Horatio Alger Scholarship – Must show critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income), be involved in community service activities, be a U.S. citizen and have a GPA of 2.0 or greater.  Online application with a deadline of October 25.


Hagen Scholarship Foundation – Must have a 3.5 GPA or higher.  Must score 23 or higher on ACT. Must enroll in college the first semester after high school.  FAFSA Expected Family Contribution must be less than $10,000. Deadline November 15th.


Hixson Opportunity Scholarship – Student must have faced challenges of personal and/or financial hardship, must possess the potential to succeed, must demonstrate financial need as determined

by filing the FAFSA and must be admissible to Iowa State University.

Online application must be completed by December 15, 2018.


United States JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship – Each year $1,000 grants will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in the United States, who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools.  They must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study. January 11th deadline.


Grand Lodge of Iowa Masonic Scholarship – The principal criterion is service to school and community with special emphasis upon leadership roles in these areas.  February 1st deadline.


Iowa National Guard Officers Auxiliary – Applicant must be the child/stepchild of an Iowa National Guard member, either currently serving, retired, or a deceased retiree. Must be attending a college or university in IOWA.  Application must be received by February 1 to be considered NO EXCEPTIONS!!


Iowa Newspaper Foundation Scholarship – Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic record, demonstrated talent and desire to work for an Iowa newspaper.  Most of the awards are limited to students attending Iowa colleges, universities and community colleges. February 15th deadline.


MCEC Technical Scholarship – Senior who plans to enroll in a mechanical or trade course of study at an accredited Iowa Community College.  Deadline to apply is March 1.


Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship – Each recipient of the scholarship must be of the Protestant faith, a resident of the State of Iowa, and a full-time student at the University of Iowa who chooses a career in banking.  

May 1st deadline


NROTC Scholarship ~ This scholarship is worth up to $180,000.
