Better Business Bureau Foundation Student of Integrity Scholarship – Criteria for this $2500 scholarship includes 35% Essay, 25% School Involvement, 25% Community Involvement, 10% Future Plans and 5% Letters of Recommendations.  Applications must be turned into counseling office by December 14th.


Hixson Opportunity Scholarship – Student must have faced challenges of personal and/or financial hardship, must possess the potential to succeed, must demonstrate financial need as determined

by filing the FAFSA and must be admissible to Iowa State University.

Online application must be completed by December 15, 2018.


Keep Iowa Beautiful Scholarship – Special requirements for applicants are to be a current Iowa resident and an Iowa high school senior enrolling in an Iowa college or university with an emphasis on environmental studies, landscape architecture or architecture (historical emphasis) or community planning & sustainability.  January 4 deadline.


Iowa School Counselor Association Scholarship – This is an online application that can be applied at    Deadline to apply is January 4th.


United States JCI Senate Foundation Scholarship – Each year $1,000 grants will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in the United States, who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools.  They must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study. January 11th deadline.


Iowa Environmental Health Association  - Applicant must be pursuing an Environmental Health major or related field.  February 1 deadline to apply.


Grand Lodge of Iowa Masonic Scholarship – The principal criterion is service to school and community with special emphasis upon leadership roles in these areas.  February 1st deadline.


Iowa National Guard Officers Auxiliary – Applicant must be the child/stepchild of an Iowa National Guard member, either currently serving, retired, or a deceased retiree. Must be attending a college or university in IOWA.  Application must be received by February 1 to be considered NO EXCEPTIONS!!


America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Scholarships – This is an online application that is available to students who plan to pursue a degree in agriculture or chemical/electrical/mechanical engineering.  Deadline to apply is February 1.


Hy-Vee Foundation Scholarship – Students are eligible for consideration if they are a high school senior working for Hy-Vee who began his/her employment on or before September 15 of the application year or are sons and daughters of full-, regular-, and part-time Hy-Vee and subsidiary associates who have a minimum of six months employment with the company as of September 15 of the application year.  Applicant must be enrolling in college for the first time. February 8th deadline.


America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Scholarships – This is an online application that is available to students who plan to pursue a degree in agriculture or chemical/electrical/mechanical engineering.  Deadline to apply is February 13.


Iowa Newspaper Foundation Scholarship – Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic record, demonstrated talent and desire to work for an Iowa newspaper.  Most of the awards are limited to students attending Iowa colleges, universities and community colleges. February 15th deadline.


Mediacom Scholarship – Applicants must be a senior in high school, a legal resident of Iowa attending any accredited two-year or four-year college, university, technical or vocational school within the U.S.  February 15th deadline to apply


James B. Morris Scholarship – Applicant must be of minority ethnic status, minimum 2.5 GPA, be a legal U.S. citizen and have a social security number.  Deadline February 28.


Iowa Farm Bureau Federation Scholarship is now available.  Sons/Daughters of Iowa Farm Bureau member eligible. March 1 deadline to apply.


American Legion Auxiliary Children of Warriors National President’s Scholarship – Must be a child/grandchild of a veteran who served in the Armed Forces. March 1st


Iowa Association of Building Officials Scholarship – Eligible applicants must be a resident of Iowa, graduate from an Iowa high school, enter a 4-year or a 2-year program of study in architecture, construction, or pre-engineering.  March 1st deadline.


Marshalltown PEO Chapter BB Scholarship – female student who has a minimum 3.0 GPA, is a citizen or legal permanent resident of the united States and exhibits excellence in one or more of the following: leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and/or potential for future success. March 1 deadline.


Warrington Memorial Scholarship (MCC ONLY) – Applicant must be a Marshall county high school graduate majoring in agriculture or health occupations full-time plus have a 2.20 GPA.  

March 1st deadline.


MCEC Technical Scholarship – Senior who plans to enroll in a mechanical or trade course of study at an accredited Iowa Community College.  Deadline to apply is March 1.


Foundation for Rural Services – Must be sponsored by a current NTCA member.

Must have at least a 2.0 GPA.  March 1st.



Harlietta Helland Scholarship – One male and one female will be selected for this scholarship.  Must have a GPA of 3.0 or better, must be a resident of Iowa.  March 1 deadline.


Folks Scholarship – Must attend an accredited trade school, 2 year/4 year college or university and have at least a 2.5 GPA. Student must show financial need but not going to receive full government assistance.  Must answer essay question. March 1st deadline.


First Friday Breakfast Club – Applicant must be a resident of Iowa, pursue a post-secondary education, and be a senior who has contributed the most to reduce homophobia and increase awareness and tolerance of gay and lesbian issues in his/her school or community.  March 31st deadline.


Iowa Hospital Association (IHA)Scholarship - Must be enrolled in a qualified health care career program, must graduate from the qualified health care career program between July 1,2019 and December 31, 2021 and must be willing to work in an Iowa hospital for one year graduation.  March 30 deadline.


Fairall Memorial Scholarship (MCC ONLY) – Applicant must have a 2.5 GPA and must be a son, daughter, or grandchild of a member of the Armed Forces who has received an honorable discharge or is still on active duty or reserve duty.  March 30th deadline.


Hungerford Memorial Scholarship (MCC ONLY) – Criteria for this scholarship include being a senior in high school, 3.0 GPA, and studying education, law enforcement, agriculture, natural resources, or a medical field. March 30th deadline.


Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship ~ Must be a US citizen with a GPA of 3.0 or greater and must attend a 4 year college or university.  Applicant must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating in community services. Combined adjusted income of parent(s) can’t exceed $50,000.   March 31st deadline.


C.E. Berg Scholarship – Criteria for the selection include being an MHS senior who will attend Iowa, Northern Iowa, or Iowa State and pursue a major in computers.  April 1st deadline.


Andrea Struss Kirchner Scholarship – Must be pursuing a post-secondary course of study

in the field of health science. April 1st deadline.

Jessie Bayne Elfers Scholarship Trust – To be eligible for this award, students must be a senior attending MHS, be accepted at a 4 year IOWA college/university, demonstrate financial need, demonstrate high scholastic ability, participate in extracurricular activities, and demonstrate high quality leadership and personal characteristics.  April 1st deadline.


Hinecker Scholarship – MHS Senior with at least a 3.0 GPA.  Must attend a school accredited by the state of  Iowa. Scholarship is renewable if requirements are met. Scholarship amount varies.  April 1st deadline.


Rotary Foundation Scholarship – Scholarship may be awarded to any senior student attending Marshalltown High School (except students of Rotarians) who continue their education in an approved college/university, community college, vocational, trade/technical school in the state of Iowa.  Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of scholarship, citizenship and need. April 1st deadline.


Fogarty Track Scholarship – Must have a 2.75 cumulative GPA, must have participated in track for 2 years, including senior year, must be attending MCC following senior year at MHS and must write an essay to include your future goals and why this scholarship would benefit you.  April 1 deadline.


Marshall County 4-H/FFA Scholarship – Must be a current, continuous and active 4-H/FFA member in Marshall County.  April 6th due date.


Johnson-Engel Scholarship Endowment in Engineering – Must be an MHS graduate who is applying at Iowa State University and must declare an Engineering major.  Must be accepted at Iowa State University before May 1st.  Must go to Iowa State University directly after high school.  This scholarship will be at least $1000 a year and can be renewed up to four additional years.  May 1 deadline.


Druker Memorial Scholarship – Criteria for this scholarship is an excellent academic record, financial need, must attend a 4-year college/university, in or out of state, involvement in extracurricular activities, and attendance at MHS for at least two years.  April 5th deadline.Lonnie Memorial Scholarship (MCC) – MHS senior planning to attend MCC full-time student pursuing a four-year degree maintaining a 2.0 GPA.  May 1st deadline.


Lyle Hogeland Memorial Scholarship – Must be attending a college/university/trade school after high school.  Must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater. Based on students self-motivation and goals in life.  

May 1st deadline.


Hogeland Memorial Scholarship – The Lonnie Eugene Hogeland, Jr. scholarship is to be awarded to an MHS senior who plans to be enrolled in a post-secondary program of at least nine months in length, has a GPA 2.0, and is based on student financial need. May 1st deadline.


Lyle Hogeland Memorial Scholarship – Must be attending a college/university/trade school after high school.  Must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater. Based on students self-motivation and goals in life.   

May 1st deadline.


Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship – Each recipient of the scholarship must be of the Protestant faith, a resident of the State of Iowa, and a full-time student at the University of Iowa who chooses a career in banking.  

May 1st deadline


Children’s Cancer Connection Empowering Scholarship – Applicant must be directly

affected by childhood cancer (either by themselves or a sibling), applicant must be within

Children’s Cancer Connection service area (living, treated or diagnosed in the state of Iowa)

and must have a 2.5 or greater GPA.


Charlie Burkart Scholarship – The Iowa PGA Section awards a college scholarship to any graduating high school senior who is a resident within the boundaries of the Iowa PGA Section and the state of Iowa.  Winners are selected on the basis of their interest and activity in golf and the potential for future contributions to the game, and then on their academic ability and financial need. June 14th deadline.


NROTC Scholarship ~ This scholarship is worth up to $180,000.


Iowa School of Beauty Scholarship ~ This scholarship has no deadline and is worth $2,500.
