James B. Morris Scholarship – Applicant must be of minority ethnic status, minimum 2.5 GPA, be a legal U.S. citizen and have a social security number.  Deadline February 28.


Iowa Farm Bureau Federation Scholarship is now available.  Sons/Daughters of Iowa Farm Bureau member eligible. March 1 deadline to apply.


Iowa Scholarships for the Arts – Graduating senior who plans on attending college in Iowa majoring in dance, literature, music theatre, folk and traditional arts, or visual arts.  March 1 deadline.


American Legion Auxiliary Children of Warriors National President’s Scholarship – Must be a child/grandchild of a veteran who served in the Armed Forces. March 1st


Iowa Association of Building Officials Scholarship – Eligible applicants must be a resident of Iowa, graduate from an Iowa high school, enter a 4-year or a 2-year program of study in architecture, construction, or pre-engineering.  March 1st deadline.


Marshalltown PEO Chapter BB Scholarship – female student who has a minimum 3.0 GPA, is a citizen or legal permanent resident of the united States and exhibits excellence in one or more of the following: leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and/or potential for future success. March 1 deadline.


Warrington Memorial Scholarship (MCC ONLY) – Applicant must be a Marshall county high school graduate majoring in agriculture or health occupations full-time plus have a 2.20 GPA.  

March 1st deadline.


MCEC Technical Scholarship – Senior who plans to enroll in a mechanical or trade course of study at an accredited Iowa Community College.  Deadline to apply is March 1.


Iowa Court Reporters Association Scholarship – Students enrolling at DMACC Court Reporting or Captioning Program.  $1000 Scholarship. March 1 deadline.


Foundation for Rural Services – Must be sponsored by a current NTCA member.

Must have at least a 2.0 GPA.  March 1st.


Harlietta Helland Scholarship – One male and one female will be selected for this scholarship.  Must have a GPA of 3.0 or better, must be a resident of Iowa. March 1 deadline.


Folks Scholarship – Must attend an accredited trade school, 2 year/4 year college or university and have at least a 2.5 GPA. Student must show financial need but not going to receive full government assistance.  Must answer essay question. March 1st deadline.


Matthew Shepard Scholarship – A scholarship for distinguished Iowa high school students who are openly gay or lesbian and attending an Iowa Board of Regents university.  Apply online by March 1st at


Elevate Advance Manufacturing Scholarship -  $500 scholarship to high school seniors interested in studying a manufacturing –related career. March 1 deadline.


    B.R. Miller Trust Fund – This is a low interest loan (2%).  If you have to borrow money to attend college you then you need to apply for this loan.  March 1 deadline.


Marshall County Iowa Farm Bureau Federation Scholarship – This scholarship is available to Farm Bureau members, sons and /or daughters pursuing the completion of two or four year agriculture and/or agribusiness degree program.   March 1st deadline.


Joe Halbur Scholarship – Student plans to further their education in programs of environmental education, cultural interpretation, historical interpretation or outdoor recreation.  March 1.


Elks National Foundation Scholarship – The award will be given to a high school senior who is a U.S. citizen and who exhibits excellence in scholarship, leadership and shows financial need.  March 8.


Iowa Communication Alliance – Must receive a qualifying service from an Iowa Communications Alliance service provider member and have at least a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.  Must express an interest to live and work in a rural community following graduation. March 13th deadline.


Consumers Energy – Dependent children of member-system consumers are eligible.  Applicant must be a student enrolling in a full-time graduate or undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school.  Awards are based on grade-point average, work experience, participation in school and community activities. March 15 deadline.


Consumers Energy Lineworker Scholarship – Applicant must pursue post-secondary education in an electric lineworker program. March 15 deadline.


Izaak Walton League Scholarship – Applicant must be a high school graduate who is a resident of Marshall County continuing their education in an approved college/university, community college, vocational, trade or technical school in a field related to conservation or environment.  March 15.


Phyllis Perry Hulton Educational Trust Scholarship – The main stipulations are that the recipient must have graduated from a high school located in Marshall County. EVERYONE NEEDS TO APPLY FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP!  March 29th deadline.


Marshalltown Education Association Scholarship – Applicant’s parent must be a current member of the Marshalltown Education Association with a 3.0 GPA. March 29 deadline.


Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa – This scholarship is to assist students with learning disabilities (see eligibility requirements on application form) in pursuing a post-secondary education at an accredited institution.  A current IEP, psychological report, or similar document with proof of a learning disability is required. March 30 deadline.


First Friday Breakfast Club – Applicant must be a resident of Iowa, pursue a post-secondary education, and be a senior who has contributed the most to reduce homophobia and increase awareness and tolerance of gay and lesbian issues in his/her school or community.

March 31st deadline.


Iowa Hospital Association (IHA)Scholarship - Must be enrolled in a qualified health care career program, must graduate from the qualified health care career program between July 1,2019 and December 31, 2021 and must be willing to work in an Iowa hospital for one year graduation.  March 30 deadline.


Fairall Memorial Scholarship (MCC ONLY) – Applicant must have a 2.5 GPA and must be a son, daughter, or grandchild of a member of the Armed Forces who has received an honorable discharge or is still on active duty or reserve duty.  March 30th deadline.


Hungerford Memorial Scholarship (MCC ONLY) – Criteria for this scholarship include being a senior in high school, 3.0 GPA, and studying education, law enforcement, agriculture, natural resources, or a medical field. March 30th deadline.


Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship ~ Must be a US citizen with a GPA of 3.0 or greater and must attend a 4 year college or university.  Applicant must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating in community services. Combined adjusted income of parent(s) can’t exceed $50,000.   March 31st deadline.


Iowa Pork Producers Association – Major in Ag related field with emphasis on swine production.

April 1 deadline.


Ann C. Keyser Charitable Trust Scholarship- Must be majoring in performing art or animal husbandry and have at least a 2.75 GPA.  Must be attending a college in the state of Iowa.

This is a $5,000 scholarship.  April 1 deadline.


Turbiville Teaching Scholarship -  Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher, be a senior at Marshalltown High School and must intend to pursue a four-year degree in education.  April 1 deadline.


HERMAN SANI / IOWA GOLF ASSOCIATION - Any graduating senior and resident of the State of Iowa

is eligible. Student must summarize school experiences including golf, sports, other extracurricular activities, academics, and awards. Official high school transcript must include the first semester

of the applicant’s senior year. April 1 deadline.


Marshalltown Men’s Chorus Music Scholarship – Male graduate who will be attending an Iowa school and majoring in the field of music.  April 1st deadline.


Ann Griffel Scholarship – The Iowa Golf Association Foundation awards $2,000 to

senior girls who intend to further their education at in IOWA institution.  Scholarship based on academic performance, extracurricular activities and leadership qualities, not on golf accomplishments or ability. April 1 deadline.


C.E. Berg Scholarship – Criteria for the selection include being an MHS senior who will attend Iowa, Northern Iowa, or Iowa State and pursue a major in computers.  April 1st deadline.


Andrea Struss Kirchner Scholarship – Must be pursuing a post-secondary course of study

in the field of health science. April 1st deadline.


Jessie Bayne Elfers Scholarship Trust – To be eligible for this award, students must be a senior attending MHS, be accepted at a 4 year IOWA college/university, demonstrate financial need, demonstrate high scholastic ability, participate in extracurricular activities, and demonstrate high quality leadership and personal characteristics.  April 1st deadline.


Hinecker Scholarship – MHS Senior with at least a 3.0 GPA.  Must attend a school accredited by the state of Iowa. Scholarship is renewable if requirements are met. Scholarship amount varies.  April 1st deadline.


Rotary Foundation Scholarship – Scholarship may be awarded to any senior student attending Marshalltown High School (except students of Rotarians) who continue their education in an approved college/university, community college, vocational, trade/technical school in the state of Iowa.  Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of scholarship, citizenship and need. April 1st deadline.


Fogarty Track Scholarship – Must have a 2.75 cumulative GPA, must have participated in track for 2 years, including senior year, must be attending MCC following senior year at MHS and must write an essay to include your future goals and why this scholarship would benefit you.  April 1 deadline.


Zolene Melvin Music Scholarship – MHS graduate who has declared a major in a music-related field or participating in one or more music activities while attending college.  Must attend a church-based college/university full-time. April 1st deadline.


Third District American Legion Auxiliary Merit Award – American Legion member or son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter of member. April 1.


Mark Mann Memorial Scholarship – Any Marshalltown graduating senior who was a member of either the girls’ or boys’ golf team who intends to pursue a post-secondary course of study.  April 1st deadline.


Matins Kiwanis Scholarship – Available to any senior at MHS. April 5 deadline.


Marshalltown Evening Lions Club – Criteria for this scholarship award will be based on your volunteer service performed for school/community and financial need. April 5 deadline.


Marshall County 4-H/FFA Scholarship – Must be a current, continuous and active 4-H/FFA member in Marshall County.  April 5th due date.


Leo H. Grether Memorial Scholarship – Criteria for this scholarship are as follows:  must be a citizen of the State of Iowa, a graduating senior, enrolling in a college/university as a vocal music major.

April 15th deadline.


Linda Bloom Scholarship – Scholarship is available to any MHS senior girl who lettered in either girls golf or girls swimming, and who plans to pursue a post-secondary course of study.  April 15th deadline.


Marshalltown Police Fraternal Order of Police Scholarship – The following criteria shall apply for all applicants:  student must be a resident of Marshall County graduating high school and must have been accepted to a community college or an accredited college/university.  Preference will be given to those who are pursuing a criminal justice degree or a related field. April 19th deadline.


Johnson-Engel Scholarship Endowment in Engineering – Must be an MHS graduate who is applying at Iowa State University and must declare an Engineering major.  Must be accepted at Iowa State University before May 1st.  Must go to Iowa State University directly after high school.  This scholarship will be at least $1000 a year and can be renewed up to four additional years.  May 1 deadline.


Druker Memorial Scholarship – Criteria for this scholarship is an excellent academic record, financial need, must attend a 4-year college/university, in or out of state, involvement in extracurricular activities, and attendance at MHS for at least two years.  April 5th deadline.Lonnie Memorial Scholarship (MCC) – MHS senior planning to attend MCC full-time student pursuing a four-year degree maintaining a 2.0 GPA. May 1st deadline.


Frank Pierce Trust (LOAN) – Low interest loan for eligible seniors who are residents of the Marshalltown Community School District for the last six years attending an Iowa college or university. May 1 deadline.


Lyle Hogeland Memorial Scholarship – Must be attending a college/university/trade school after high school.  Must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater. Based on students self-motivation and goals in life.

May 1st deadline.


Morning Optimist Scholarship (Tom Stanley Memorial) – Applicant must be a senior in high school, accepted at a 2-year/4-year institution accredited by the Iowa State Board of Regents, must have a 2.0 GPA, and a Marshall County resident.  May 1 deadline.


Hogeland Memorial Scholarship – The Lonnie Eugene Hogeland, Jr. scholarship is to be awarded to an MHS senior who plans to be enrolled in a post-secondary program of at least nine months in length, has a GPA 2.0, and is based on student financial need. May 1st deadline.


Lyle Hogeland Memorial Scholarship – Must be attending a college/university/trade school after high school.  Must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater. Based on students self-motivation and goals in life.

May 1st deadline.


Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship – Each recipient of the scholarship must be of the

Protestant faith, a resident of the State of Iowa, and a full-time student at the University of Iowa

who chooses a career in banking. May 1st deadline


Robert D. Blue Scholarship – Applicant must be an Iowa resident planning to attend an Iowa college/university.  Applications are accepted online only at:  May 10th deadline.


American Legion Auxiliary Iowa Department Scholarship- Must be son/grandson or daughter/granddaughter of a Veteran.  June 1 deadline.


Children’s Cancer Connection Empowering Scholarship – Applicant must be directly

affected by childhood cancer (either by themselves or a sibling), applicant must be within

Children’s Cancer Connection service area (living, treated or diagnosed in the state of Iowa)

and must have a 2.5 or greater GPA. May 31 deadline.


Charlie Burkart Scholarship – The Iowa PGA Section awards a college scholarship to any graduating high school senior who is a resident within the boundaries of the Iowa PGA Section and the state of Iowa.  Winners are selected on the basis of their interest and activity in golf and the potential for future contributions to the game, and then on their academic ability and financial need. June 14th deadline.


NROTC Scholarship ~ This scholarship is worth up to $180,000.


Iowa School of Beauty Scholarship ~ This scholarship has no deadline and is worth $2,500.


Mensa Education & Research Foundation's local scholarship - the only eligibility requirements are that the applicant will be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited American institution of post-secondary education in the 2019-2020 academic year, and that the applicant is a citizen or a permanent resident of the United States.   Awards will be made on the basis of an essay of fewer than 550 words, which describes the applicant's career, vocational, or academic goal toward which the scholarship is to provide aid.

Entries will be judged and awarded at three levels: local, regional, and national.

Awards are made in amounts ranging from $500 to $2,500.
