The Marshalltown High School Drill Team placed fourth in their division at the ISDTA state team competition Friday, Dec. 6, in Des Moines.
The team competed in the Class III Color Guard contest. Other schools placing in Class III were Bettendorf, Des Moines Lincoln, Dubuque Senior and Dowling Catholic. The team received 63.25 out of 70 points, earning them a Division I rating. First place received 65.75.
Megan Assenmacher-Umthun and Jenny Hopper choreographed the routine, which featured the song Radioactive by Imagine Dragons and incorporated group dance, flag, rifle and swing flag.
Team members are Missy Allen, Whitney Canaday, Kaylee Clemens, Libby Crawford, Angel Cuellar, Cassidy Fisher, Raelene McGahuey, Lily Neuan, Rachel Noe, and Samantha Tocheri.
