Marshalltown Schools do not accept paper applications. All applicants must complete the electronic application and attach all necessary documents in order to apply for a position. Applicants with complete files will be screened by an administrator according to established criteria. An interview team will select the successful candidate for hire.

The online application system is email-driven. If your email address changes, you must update it in your application or you will not receive status notifications.

Within the application there is an ATTACHMENTS section for submitting the following documents. Each document must be no larger than 2MB. The total of all attached documents must be no more than 5MB.

Administrative Applicants:

  • Cover Letter
  • Current resume
  • At least three letters of reference
  • Transcripts (official transcripts will be required if selected for a position)
  • Iowa Administrative License (please include with resume)

Teaching Applicants:

  • Cover Letter
  • Current resume
  • At least three letters of reference
  • Transcripts (official transcripts will be required if selected for a position)
  • Iowa Teaching License (please include with resume)

Classified Applicants (secretaries, custodians, paraeducators, information technicians, maintenance, media technologists): Cover letter, current resume and transcripts are optional. Substitute Classified Applicants: No attachments necessary

Coaching Applicants: Valid Iowa Coaching authorization or endorsement

Substitute Teaching Applicants: Iowa Teaching License
