What is the Weekly COVID-19 Case Update?

The Marshalltown Community School District believes it is crucial to keep our community informed regarding COVID-19 cases, while also maintaining the privacy of individual students and employees. A report on the number of COVID-19 cases within the District will be shared weekly on Fridays beginning on Sept. 18, 2020; each report will share the total number of new, confirmed cases among both students and staff members District-wide since the time of the previous report.

Important notes about MCSD’s weekly COVID-19 case reports

  • The weekly COVID-19 reports will focus exclusively on new, confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the time of the previous report.

  • The weekly reports will not include information regarding any individual person, position/title, classroom/activity, age group, grade level, or school building. This is in order to maintain the privacy of our students and employees.

  • Information about student/staff absences due to unconfirmed cases or symptoms, other illnesses, or any other circumstances will not be included in these weekly reports.

  • Marshalltown Schools has developed a process of communicating COVID-19 and contact tracing information to students, their families, and MCSD employees who may be directly impacted if a case is confirmed. Read more about that process here

  • Along with this webpage, MCSD’s weekly COVID-19 reports will be shared with District families and staff via email. They will also be posted on the MCSD Facebook and Twitter pages.

  • For more information on the coronavirus pandemic and safety measures, please contact Marshall County Public Health or the Iowa Department of Public Health.
