About Franklin
Franklin Elementary School serves families in the northwest corner of Marshalltown.
Established in 1913, Franklin underwent major construction during the 1994-1995 school year. The original 1913 section of the school was demolished and a new building was built on the site.
Franklin enrolls approximately 400 students with three sections at each grade level. Classroom teachers work in grade-level teams and are supported by a team of special education teachers, fine arts specialists and paraeducators.
Franklin also houses preschool classrooms.
Franklin enjoys the support of an active Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA), with parents serving on the PTSA Board and working as volunteers in the building to enhance learning.
