ANKENY — The Marshalltown boys’ track and field team tallied just three points to place last out of 10 teams at the Ankeny Invite on Tuesday night.

Ignacio Macias picked up a point for his sixth-place finish in the shot put, clearing 46 feet, 6 inches with his best heave. Teammate Owen Eaton took seventh with a toss of 44-10.

A pair of Bobcat relays placed sixth as well. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Fernando Garcia, Aiden Smitherman, Carson Daters and Ethan Gorsuch scored a point with their combined time of 1 minute, 10.62 seconds, while the quartet of Carter Nunn, Kade Randall, Myles Goldman and Parker Gooding earned sixth in 8:46.71.

The Bobcats’ 4×200 relay team of Smitherman, Evan Anderson, Kieron Sharp and Isacc Ceniceros scored seventh in 1:36.57.

Nunn and Gooding finished 8-9 in the 800-meter run with respective times of 2:07.08 and 2:07.95. Randall came in ninth in the 1,600 (4:57.71), while three more relays — sprint medley, 4×100 and 4×400 — finished ninth as well.
