Marshalltown High School (MHS) is proud to announce its upcoming fall theatre production of S.E. Hinton’s classic story, "The Outsiders." Performances will take place on Friday, Nov. 6, and Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, with both shows starting at 7:00 p.m.

This year’s production will be hosted at the Black Box Theatre at the B.A. Niblock - MCSD Orpheum Welcome Center, offering an intimate, immersive stage setting for audiences to experience the emotional and timeless story.

Adapted for the stage, "The Outsiders" explores themes of friendship, identity, and empathy through the eyes of Ponyboy Curtis and his group of friends, known as the "Greasers," as they navigate conflict with the rival "Socs." MHS student actors and stage crew have been working diligently over recent weeks to bring these memorable characters and iconic moments to life.

“This year's play has been more student driven and the results so far have been impressive. The students picked the play themselves and have been designing the set, lights and costumes,” said MHS Fall Play Director Daniel Abens. “They've been working hard and are passionate about the show and I can't wait for everyone to see it.”

Tickets are $7 when purchased through Bound and $8 at the door. MHS activity passes will be honored. For more information, please contact the Marshalltown High School main office at 641-754-1130.
