Miller Middle School prepares the district’s seventh and eighth grade students for success in high school and beyond.

The excellent student-to-teacher ratio means individual and small-group assistance is accessible for all students. Strong partnerships with local businesses and community groups build positive relationships between students and the Marshalltown community.

Students at Miller have access to a wide array of resources, including a fitness center, a new GEAR UP Iowa computer lab, and a myriad of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.

At the middle school level, a diversified curriculum allows students to explore varied interests.

A state-of-the-art career lab allows Miller students to begin researching and exploring possible career paths before high school

Further career exploration is available through job shadowing. All eighth grade students are given the opportunity to spend time with an area employer and begin to understand some of the career opportunities available to them after high school. Students are able to discover where their interests lie and build an academic road map to achieve their goals.

Along with a varied curriculum, Miller also offers a wide array of extra- and co-curricular activities, including seven sports, performance and visual fine arts, band, chorus, orchestra, and numerous groups and organizations for all interests.

Miller Middle School has a long history of partnership with local businesses and community organizations to enrich education and improve Marshalltown.

A strong partnership with Lennox continues to emphasize the important link between education and local business. All students have the opportunity to take a tour of the Marshalltown facility while at Miller.

Miller is also dedicated to working with families, hosting Family Nights, parent book studies, inviting parents to lunch, and hosting many family and community-oriented events to build solid education partnerships
