Literature Circle Rubric

I have three reading groups in my class. One is an intensive group teaching basic reading strategies and vocabulary words. The other two are more independent groups, reading a chapter book and responding to questions generated by classmates and the teacher. I created this rubric to let the students know the behaviors and the standard of quality work for which I was looking. The students also have an opportunity to grade themselves periodically to see how they think they are doing. We compare their thoughts with mine and see what areas need improvement.
