Four Miller students ranked in the top quarter of all participants at the MATHCOUNTS Regional competition Thursday, Feb. 24, at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny.
Nicole Lacina, Ellyn Boland, Sumeet Panchal and James Talbert were among the top 25 percent of the 236 participants. The team overall placed 11th out of 29 schools, improving four places from last year.
MATHCOUNTS is a nationally sponsored club designed to enhance and challenge students with mathematical problem solving and reasoning.
