Lenihan, Miller students honored in Noon Lions Peace Poster contest

The Noon Lions Club announced winners in their annual Peace Poster contest Thursday evening (Nov. 10), with students from Lenihan Intermediate and Miller Middle School receiving honors.

First prize from Miller went to Joaquin Ramirez. Second place went to Ya Soe and third place was given to Monica Gomez. Honorable mention entrants were Michelle Ankrum, Veronica Daniel and Ryan Anderson.

Shayelyn Pickett took first prize at Lenihan, with second place going to Megan Haight and third place going to Desiree Ruiz. Receiving honorable mention were Madeline Jelken, Isabel Paredes and Molly Bach.

The Lions International Peace Poster Contest evaluated on artistic merit, portrayal of theme and originality. The two first place winners will advance to the state competition.
