Six Marshalltown High School students were selected for the South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association Honor Band during auditions Nov. 30 at Des Moines Roosevelt High School.
Sixteen Bobcat musicians auditioned for the honor and six were ultimately selected to perform Jan. 5, 2013, in Des Moines.
Those selected were: Collin Krukow on trombone and Sam Johnson on percussion for the 9-10 grade honor band and Maggie Kelehan on percussion, Abby Snyder on trombone, Michaela Huey on clarinet and Brett Wax on tuba for the 11-12 grade honor band.
