MHS Health Fair draws 350 students

Marshalltown High School’s health clinic hosted “The Amazing Health Adventure” Thursday, March 7, a health fair that attracted 350 students.

The goal of the fair was to empower students and staff to make healthy choices. Booths included Mid-Iowa Community Action, Hy-Vee Dietitian Melissa Richardson, Central Iowa Family Planning, Building Health Families, Team APP (Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention), and Winding Creek Spa.

Officer Kraig Lageschulte had drug vision goggles and information about the impact of drugs on the body. Information was also available from Iowa Statewide Poison Control Center and United HealthCare.

The health fair was held in the upper lobby of the MHS/Community Auditorium and drew a number of staff members as well as students.
