Kyle Young is the new principal at Lenihan Intermediate School.
“It’s great to come to a school with so many dedicated educators and I’m ready to listen and learn from them about how I can best support their work,” Young said.
Young became associate principal at Miller Middle School in July 2013. Previously he was assistant principal at Woodward Academy, a school improvement coordinator, and a world history teacher.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge but certainly sad to be leaving the amazing Miller family I’ve been lucky to work with this past year,” he said. “My hope is that my experience at Miller will help us create more opportunities to tightly align our practices with the upper grades while focusing on helping students at their current level of understanding.”
Young holds as master’s degree in educational administration and a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University.
Young begins his new position July 1, 2014.
