Miller Middle School student Samantha Snyder hands out a hog dog during a tailgate party sponsored by the Miller Student Council on Sept. 15. The effort was put in place to boost school spirit during an eighth grade football game at Franklin Field.

In an effort to boost school spirit, a group of Miller Middle School Student Council members offered free hot dogs, popcorn and lemonade to their fellow students and other fans at the eighth grade football game at Franklin Field on Sept. 15.

The group set up a Bobcat tent near the field. Their food, which was provided by private donations, was popular with the fans.

“We want to support the school and be proud Bobcats,” said Alexis Espinoza, one of the council members volunteering at the event.

The Bobcats played Waukee as the A team lost 14-6 and the B team won 16-0.
