Teams from Lenihan Intermediate School and St. Francis Catholic School took part in the Battle of the Books on April 3 at the Marshalltown Public Library.
The students read dozens of books and were tested on their knowledge of the books on Monday. Two teams from Lenihan shared first place honors at the event.
One first place team was The Cookie Bandits which consisted of Locke Bloomquist, Averi Bolar, Elexus Ocasio, Grace Bethel and Yessenia Alvarez Zamora.
The other first place team, known as the Dabbing Ducks, included Braden Stewart, Roan Jelken, Desy Sung and Ryan Schmit.
