Marshalltown Community Schools have many events in the upcoming weeks to welcome students and their families to a new school year.

- Woodbury Elementary Kindergarten/New Parent Orientation, 5:30pm, Woodbury Gym
Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012
- Lenihan Intermediate Parent Orientation, 5:30-6:30pm
- Miller Middle School Open House, Seventh Grade 5-6pm, 8th Grade 6-7pm
Monday, Aug. 20, 2012
- Freshmen Orientation, Marshalltown High School, 1-3:30pm
- Back to School Night, Lenihan 4:30-5:30pm, All Elementary Schools 5-6pm
The first day of schools is Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012. There will be a one-hour early dismissal on that day. The first day of preschool will be Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012.
School supply lists are posted on the MCSD website under “Parent Resources” and on each school’s individual home page. Lists are also available at numerous area retailers.
