Hoglan Elementary hosted Family Education Night Thursday, Nov. 21, inviting students and parents to the school for hands-on learning, food and fun.

Hosted by the school’s PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) Team, Family Education Night focused on teaching families about easy, low- or no-cost learning activities they can do at home. School staff shared literacy and math tips and held sessions on health and fitness. The Marshalltown Police Department, Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS), the Salvation Army and the Boy Scouts were also on hand.

Day care was provided, with many fun activities for kids and a free book for each child. Everyone who attended also enjoyed pizza following the learning sessions.
