Miller students earn ribbons at ITEC Fair

Nineteen Miller Middle School students participated in the Central Iowa Student Technology Fair at Iowa State University Tuesday, April 1, earning numerous honors.

The students, all part of the Extended Learning Program, were among 200 students representing more than 15 schools in Central Iowa. Students created projects in these areas: 3-D Rendering/Non-linear Animation, Graphics/Publishing, Innovative Technology Use, Mobile Apps, Music and Sound Design, Programming, Video or Linear Presentation (includes animation), and Web Presence.  Students gave a 10-minute presentation to the judges about their learning.

Receiving Red Ribbons for Commendable Work:

  • Brianna Dean- Music and Sound Design (Commercial Music)
  • Martin Runquist & Moises Garcia- NXT Performance Test (Innovative Technology Use)
  • Maggie Grimm – New and Improved! (Innovative Technology Use)

Receiving Blue Ribbons for Technical Merit:

  • Hannah Gardea- The Great Escape (Programming)
  • Joshua Arment- Escape V2 (Mobile App)

  • Sam Estrada & Ronaldo Ordaz Zambrano- BOB (Programming)
  • Jill Podhajsky & Joseph Anguiano- The Radio Ad That Is 60 Seconds (Music & Sound Design)
  • Cole Welden & Kanin Mann- The Color Protocol (Mobile App)
  • Patrick Schafer- Iowa River Bridge Reconstruction (3D Rendering)
